About Me

Hi! My name is Talia Elias, and I am a senior at Grace Prep High School. I plan to attend Liberty University in the fall for a degree in communications. Both my portfolio and website are accumulations of all the work I've done for my Senior Legacy Project. With my project, I want to leave this legacy, that we are Because He Is, and we get to live from that truth every day!

Why this Project

I couldn’t even imagine doing any other project. This project has completely changed my life and even my plans for the future.

Throughout my life, I have struggled to find my identity. I never truly knew who I, Talia, was. And anytime I thought about it, it scared me. This affected every aspect of my life, and so many people tried to help me see what was happening, but I was so blind to it. This was the hardest season of my life, and I had to let go of how I wanted others to view me. I had to let go and let God completely reshape my life.

After I faced concussions, I had almost no control. I felt so worthless, so weak, and like a disappointment. I had to learn to let God use my injuries as a time to dive deep into who I was. My Sophomore year is when everything changed. It was like a light switch had been turned back on. I began to realize that everything that was being poured into me was true, that I wasn’t alone, that I was loved by so many people, and above all, the Lord.

There were difficult seasons with this project, but I decided I didn't want to do anything just because I felt I had to. I didn’t want to fake it or ignore the depth of my project. This project has been such an incredible blessing, opening my eyes to where God is calling me and what He is calling me to do. I have challenged myself to overcome my insecurities and just be myself, to realize that I may have to take that step out to learn and grow in my confidence, and, above all, in the Lord.
