Alisa Childers raised key theological issues, such as the authority of the Bible, the resurrection of Jesus, and the exclusivity of Christ. She argues that progressive Christianity doesn’t clearly capture the true essence of Christian teachings, which leads to faith that isn’t rooted in the truths of the Bible. By stating the differences, she encourages us to ask those hard questions and when we face doubt, not to grow in fear but fall to the Word and the Lord.

Another Gospel ?

Jonathan Holmes spoke about how many people sometimes, by accident or without even realizing it, find their identity on shaky or inconsistent foundations, such as relationships, achievements, performance, or even how others view them. For a short time, those things can seem good, and they may make people feel secure and confident, but they eventually fall apart or get taken away. It shows that our identity can easily be shaken and fall apart. He also brought up how if we’re basing our identity on our performance, that we’ll live in constant pressure to live up to the standards people have, so then we compare ourselves, and push ourselves too far, just to have the chance of proving our worth, or even to feel a slight bit of worth.

Grounded in Grace

Sadie Robertson constantly fell back to Christianity, stating that our true identity is solely found in following Jesus instead of these earthly things. She says that social media distorts reality, leading others to compare themselves and to present fake lives online. This comparison, then, creates pressure to keep up, to be a step ahead, and to rely on performance rather than live authentically. So when we ground our identity in Christ, we feel this freedom rather than the constant need to prove ourselves to others or seek validation from them.
