Because He Is

    For so long, I constantly searched for who I was in my friendships, in my performance, in what I achieved, and even in what others thought of me. I believed the truths about God only in my head, but I found it difficult to apply them to my life. It wasn’t until I went through the hardest seasons of my life that I realized that identity can not be built on anything that isn’t a constant. When everything was stripped away, I was only left with Christ, my firm foundation.

    Throughout this project, I've learned that we can’t just create who we identify with; we receive it. We can't work to get our identity; it's not earned, nor is it based on performance or on needing to be proven. God states that He has already spoken about who we are over us. We only have to believe in Him.

    This project has stretched me in so many ways, humbled me, and really strengthened me. It's encouraged me to stay authentic and true, rather than perfect. I was challenged to speak from my experiences and testimonies.
    Looking back, this was never just about completing this project. It was that I needed to surrender, to allow God to reshape how I viewed myself. And learn about my worth in not what I’ve done but in whose I am.

    I pray that anyone who sees or reads this project can walk away knowing that their identity isn’t defined by labels, our failures, expectations set by others, or anything. Instead, it is defined by Christ. Because He Is who He says He is, we can find our identity in who He says we are.
