Host a Podcast

Doing this Podcast really challenged me, but I am so glad and grateful that this was assigned to me. For years, I always wanted to start a podcast, but I never felt ready, mature, or confident enough. But I was, I just didn’t believe in myself. So when they brought up hosting a podcast during my proposal meeting, I hadn’t really told them I had always wanted to start one. And it was such a God moment, and I was so excited.

It wasn’t always easy, though. It was difficult at first to figure out how to upload it to all the platforms, how to film and record, and even to decide what to talk about, including personal testimonies and experiences with biblical references and support, and what I had been learning through my research. One thing I tried to stick to was uploading my episode in the first week of the month, but that didn't always work out, so I would just upload an episode each month. Because there was one thing I didn’t want to do: I did not want to film an episode ever, because I was just doing it because I had to. There were many instances throughout the process when I felt drained, both creatively and spiritually, and I also got extremely busy with all my extracurriculars. So the episode was delayed, and in December, I got very sick and couldn’t upload it. This set me back quite a bit, not necessarily with getting the Bubble done, but for myself.

Even though this bubble isn’t completely finished yet, I will have it completed for my presentation. I was assigned to do six episodes, but I plan to continue hosting my podcast. Regarding my project, I have two episodes left: one I will upload in February, which discusses the importance of testimonies, and one on March 1st with Carisse McKenzie, which discusses shame, sin, and second chances. So, despite this bubble stretching me far more than I expected at first, I am still so grateful to have been given it. It has helped me grow in so many areas, and I want to take what I’ve learned and use it in what I will do in my future.
